There is another cool application to bring excitement into WindowsXP but surprisingly it comes from Yahoo!.
It's called the Yahoo! Widget Engine 3.0. This is a collection of small programs that run in the background on your desktop giving you tidbits of information. Right at this very moment I am running:
- digg.com search box
- wi-fi signal detector
- large digital time display
- memory usage detector
- system CPU usage detector
The program comes with some default widgets but you can download many others from the vast library here.
